Shepton Mallet’s Community Festival

13th – 14th June 2020

Collett Festival is a two day series of events held in Collett Park, Shepton Mallet, Somerset. The events celebrate our beautiful park and our town, with fantastic music, food and entertainment. The festival includes our famous Collett Day, a concert and a children’s festival.

We have taken the decision to cancel Collett Festival 2020.

The events planned for June this year will not now go ahead. While we know this will be very disappointing, especially for the many children who take part in our community’s annual summer celebration, we simply can’t put members of the public at greater risk of contracting the Covid-19 virus.

On a more positive note, we will do all we can to bring back Collett Festival next year, and we have already begun planning for this with artistes, suppliers, sponsors and traders for June 2021.

Our History

Collett Day is a celebration of Shepton Mallet and the surrounding area’s leisure and charitable organisations in the town’s wonderful Park gifted to Shepton Mallet by John Kyte Collett in 1906. (Our attendance in 2016 and 2017 was over 4000 visitors.)

Collett Day is a Collett Park Charity event supported by Shepton Mallet Town Council.  The day is organised and run by dedicated volunteers including many of the town’s councillors.

Collett Day is well attended again by thousands of local residents and increasingly many are also travelling from the county’s hinterland and further afield, allowing us to showcase the town.
